Now residing near Tulsa, Oklahoma, Melanie (Potesta) Austin is a Going Pro consultant who hails from Indianapolis. She danced for the Indiana NBA Pacers “Pacemates” for eight years, serving as captain for three. With over 26 years of training in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Contemporary, Melanie has earned finalist positions for the NBA Laker Girls as well as Season 3 of “So You Think You Can Dance.” Melanie recently became the head choreographer of the Tulsa 66ers Dance Team (NBA-D League).
Melanie is a certified kickboxing and pilates-yoga instructor. Melanie’s studies include paralegal and broadcasting, and broadcast meteorology. She and her family recently relocated to Oklahoma, where she is specializing in dance training for NFL, NBA and college audition candidates. In 2012, Melanie was a featured choreographer at the Chicago Going Pro Expo.
