GPE Welcomes NFL Cheerleader Ana De Villegas in NYC/NJ

Tuesday, December 20th, 2011

Ana De Villegas joins Going Pro in New Jersey / New York

Going Pro Entertainment welcomes 2-team NFL Cheerleader Ana De Villegas, a pro cheer consultant and choreographer in New York / New Jersey.

During her one year with the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders, Ana appeared in the swimsuit calendar.  She was named an All-American dancer, performing at the NFL Pro Bowl in Hawaii. Today, Ana is the director and choreographer of the Unofficial Cheerleaders of the New York Giants, the team’s first performance group in history. Ana is also active in the American Basketball Association (ABA) as the Entertainment Coordinator and choreographer for the New York Charters. She enjoys teaching dance and Pilates throughout New York City and enjoys conducting fitness training for dancers at all levels.

As a performer, Ana has shared the stage with artists including Ne-Yo in Times Square, Sean Paul and Shakira during her 2010 World Cup tour. Ana has appeared on Pix Channel 11 morning news, The Today Show and performed live on Fox and Friends. She is also a company member of Revolucion Latina, directed by Luis Salgado (In the Heights), which is a non-profit collective of artists and activists committed to empowering the artistic community in order to inspire growth within the Latino Community through productions and educational support programs. Ana can also be seen as a featured dancer on the reality Docu Series: The Louie Spence Dance Project, airing on the Oprah Winfrey Network this winter.

Ana also enjoys traveling as a guest speaker for youth looking to pursue a career in dance and sports entertainment. Most recently, Ana was Director of Group Services at the world-renowned Broadway Dance Center where she coordinated group classes and workshops for thousands of students and studios world-wide. She studied philosophy and international legal systems in London.  Her double major in Criminal Justice and Dance, together with her six years of experience as a Paralegal, have afforded her the opportunity to touch the public beyond her artistic talents.

“There are very few performance opportunities in the entertainment world that can challenge a dancer the way pro cheer and dance do, every day. Aside from learning routines and performing for hundreds of thousands of fans, pro performers must be ready to speak intelligently about the team they represent, the sport in general, understanding the fan base and maintaining the healthiest of lifestyles while continuing to grow in their career. It’s an incredible challenge!”

“I can say with great pride that pro cheerleading changed my life in a beautiful way. I have grown as a person and artist. The training boosted my confidence, which transcended to my career as a paralegal and law student.”

“Today, my greatest passion is to help aspiring pro cheer and dance performers understand what it takes to become a part of the elite group of artists that make up sports entertainment. From choreography assistance to health coaching and team building, I am honored to serve as a coach and role model to hundreds of dancers who need that extra insider’s tip to make their dream team. Being a great dancer or having a beautiful face is not enough, as our job in sports entertainment is about much more! It takes passion, intelligence and a persevering attitude to be successful. I am dedicated to inspiring the world of sports entertainment to new levels of performance and helping those who want it, achieve it!”

Ana recently choreographed at the East Coast Pro Dance Convention and will soon represent the company at the DC Pro Dance Convention on February 10 in Dulles, Virginia. Ana is one of over 25 consultants available across the United States and Canada for pro cheer consulting, talent castings and team services. GPE Welcomes San Antonio / Houston Consultant NBA Alumna Brittany Hefner

Monday, December 19th, 2011

Brittany Hefner joins Going Pro in San Antonio & Houston

Joining our team in the Houston area, reaching to San Antonio, is Brittany Hefner, 2-team NBA dancer.

Brittany was an NBA dancer for one year in San Antonio and four years in Houston. She has a degree in psychology from Houston Baptist University, where she was a cheerleader and was on the Dean’s List. As a Houston Rockets Power Dancer, Brittany was voted Most Dedicated Team Member, Power Dance of the Month for three years, Most Improved Dancer and received the “Life Saver” award. She still remains active in the Houston NBA program as assistant coach and choreographer for the seniors performance team. She cheered and danced at Cypress Springs High School, serving as head captain and chosen as an NCA All-American Cheerleader. Brittany spent five years competing with the Texas Lonestar Cheer Company and over ten years training at the Ballet Center of Houston.

Brittany joins Going Pro Entertainment for consulting and choreography at the upcoming Texas Pro Dance Convention on January 28, 2012.

She says, “I have been dancing since I could walk, so dancing professionally had always been my dream.  I have spent many years training in ballet, tap, jazz, and cheerleading, but auditioning for school or company teams was nothing like auditioning for a pro team. The first audition I attended was intimidating and I felt unprepared. If I had not attended a workshop to help prepare myself and gain confidence, I probably would not have auditioned again. After spending four seasons with the Houston Rockets and one with the San Antonio Spurs, I can’t wait to help other girls accomplish the same dream by working with Going Pro Entertainment.”

“Dancing professionally has had a major impact on my life. My teammates are now my closest friends, and I have met many other significant people in my life throughout my NBA dance career. One of the highlights was going to China with to dance in two NBA China games. My experiences were amazing and I encourage every dancer that has ever imagined what it would be like, to let GPE help prepare you to take steps toward your dream!”

Brittany is one of over 25 consultants available across the United States and Canada for pro cheer consulting, talent castings and team services. Learn more about Going Pro’s consulting and other services at www.goingproentertainment.com.

GPE’s Heidi Inthavong in the News

Heidi Inthavong consults and choreographs in Maryland and East Coast

Congratulations to Going Pro consultant Heidi Inthavong of Frederick, Maryland for her recent feature on Ultimatecheerleaders.com!

From NFL Cheerleader to Zumba Instructor

From WTOP.com

At the age of 30, Heidi Inthavong has done more than many have in a lifetime.

A native of Shawnee, Kan., Inthavong has been a physical therapist, personal trainer and NFL cheerleader. She has been involved in charitable work and has helped coordinate the largest cheer on record.

Inthavong has opened Get Heidi Fit and Personal Training Co. at Chic Physique on the second floor of 500 W. Patrick St. She also teaches at Elite Style Cheer on Industry Lane.

The new business will offer Zumba fitness and personal fitness classes.

“My parents pushed me to go into the medical field,” Inthavong said. “I love biology and the human body.”

She received a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science at the University of Kansas, where she was a cheerleader and played soccer.

She then worked as a technician in the physical therapy field for five years.

Inthavong moved into the marketing field, working for a sports and performance center, where she met many professional athletes.

Her interest in fitness led her to get a certification as a personal trainer and in group fitness through the University of Kansas and the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

A Kansas City Chiefs fan, she auditioned as a cheerleader and entertained and motivated the crowds for six years at Arrowhead Stadium and at away games.

During that time Inthavong also did USO shows for military personnel, a program supported by the NFL.

Going Pro Consultant Heidi Inthavong is a well known zumba instructor in Maryland

“I went to Egypt, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Austria and around the states,” she said. “We did a two-hour variety show.”

She also turned her enthusiasm to charities such as the Alzheimer’s Association, Lily’s Hope, and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. She led a Zumbathon in October and a 5-kilometer run/walk, and on Jan. 7 plans to hold another Zumbathon to raise funds for juvenile diabetes programs.

Zumba combines Latin music and moves with exercise and fitness.

“It is exercise in disguise because it is so much fun,” Inthavong said. “You are forgetting you are getting in shape.”

People have lost weight doing Zumba regularly, she said, and four of her clients have become Zumba-certified instructors.

“What sets me apart is my background in choreography and cheerleading,” Inthavong said.

She also does boot camps — personal training workouts — as well as one-on-one personal training. Inthavong has a line of apparel called Get Heidi Fit designs.

On Nov. 12, Inthavong helped lead 1,300 cheerleaders from throughout the U.S. in the biggest cheer, entering Guinness World Records and beating China’s former record of 1,200 cheerleaders. The event was held at the Sun National Bank Arena in Trenton, N.J. The event was coordinated by the Pop Warner program, which focuses on youth football and cheerleading.
